My dearest Maria did the styling for this Dirty Projectors video that was finally released - Matthew Lessner(la ex) directed. They shot it on a mountain. I was in New York while Maria was frantically running around pulling and fitting clothes, so I'm excited to final result.

Seems like there's lots of chatter on the internets about the video already. Especially about the powder blue pantsuits :)

These weekend trips make it very hard to come back here to the same ol' room and do the same ol' stuff. As soon as we entered NH, we were greeted with rain and traffic, after perfect conditions in VT all weekend.

We got in late Thursday night, after the 4 hour drive to Colchester Point. There were 9 of us there over the course of the weekend - Me, Nate, Laura, Glen, Anne Marie, Nathaniel, Fati, Andy and Glen's ma Lynn. Full house!

As you can see, the cabin was RIGHT on the lake, which made for a lot of laying - swimming - laying - dozing off - eating - laying - swimming all weekend long. It was awesome.

I could specify day by day what we did, but it was pretty much just a continuous cycle of sleeping, eating, reading, board games, drinking, swimming, and fire making. I took about 8,000 naps and finally finished Wise Blood. We did have one huge thunderstorm and Nate almost lost his tent, but other than that it was sunny.

Scrabble

Eating

I WON Balderdash. Check out the 'tude.

Tubin' (the lake is awesome - you can go out ridiculously far and still touch the ground)

Fatou and Anne Marie makin dough for the pizzas (so good. Also, Fati is 4 months along. Cutest belly)

I didn't shower for 3 days. I was all lake water and sun screen.

So much fun - I don't think I've laughed quite that much in a long time...

Ahhh I should stop going to New York and expecting to feel normal when I come back. I should expect to toss and turn to nightmares about my house getting broken into. I should expect to feel a little (a lot) off. And I do.. but it was fun of course.

I got in Thursday night and headed to Fontanas for the showcase (which I didn't watch) stayed there for a few hours and headed back to Brooklyn with Justin and took his dog around the block - catching up on the last few odd months. Maria met me and we popped around a few bars, despite my plan to go to bed fairly early. Ran into my friend Ian and caught up. Stumbled home etc.

Friday was a bit frustrating since my laptop refused to work properly. I lot of carting it around Brooklyn, trying to make it for conference calls that people didn't show up for. Dinner at Papacitos (so gooodddd.) Out to Studio B for Yikes, brief stay there, stopped by K&M, met up with Nika. More hopping around. BMX party (don't ask.) Late again.

Brunch with Nika & Maria at Lovin Cafe. Back to Fontanas for Flag Day party. Caught up with many peoples. Might have found a project to work on until I find a permanent solution. Vanessa's, Spitzers, many other places, 2nd on 2nd for Karaoke. Made friends with a blind man.

Enid's brunch yesterday. Laying around, bus home finally.

Now I'm looking at my week - hopefully Dumpling House, maybe Up, Most Serene Republic, Friday off - Lake Champlain in VT for the weekend.

Had problems taking pictures where we all looked normal!

MMM mini burger

Didn't take many pictures. They're all the same. Haha.

Definitely gonna try to relax a bit this week, hit the gym, SLEEP etc.

My yard sale Saturday... hmmm. I still have a big pile of shizz, but I made about $80 with the books that Aimee hauled off to Booksmith for me. Lots of weirdos (hello 45 year old vinyl creep asking me for a date,) lots of yard lounging, friends hanging out.. Overall enjoyable. I really need to take advantage of my backyard. BBQ in a couple of weeks I think.

After hauling the leftovers back in the house, Lauren, Matty, Vibhu and I went kite flying in Cambridge. Vib brought back this insane paper kites from India - which go incredibly high... Example:

That black speck is the kite. We had it up for a while but eventually crashed it into a building and lost it. Whoops!

Last night I met up with Gabi for some dancing. Soul Le Lu Jah was first.. crowded and sorta eh that night. Some drunk kid tried to chat us up by making hydration recommendations. "If your pee is too yellow, you know you gotta drink some water." Yeah...

Then we went to Middlesex for their hip hop/90's night. Crowded, but decidedly more fun. Lots of getting down. My legs still hurt from the amount of walking/running/dancing that's been going on. Late night, but made it home after some rain soaked/wicked happy picture taking

This morning was brunch at East Coast Grill (loooveee), 10 Things I Hate About You, couch napping and back out for dinner at Cambridge 1. Best pizza. Gahh.

Crossing my fingers about getting into Phoenix on Wednesday. Thursday I head to NYC for YIKES!!!, Flag Day and a ladies brunch (highlight of my last visit.) So excited to see everyone on Saturday. My frieeeeeeeeends

Vacation!

So things are booked. Here we go.

Sept 5-8 I will be here:

Then my mama flies in and we'll be here:

Then we'll end up here:

and we'll do a little of this:

and hopefully see one of these:

Maybe it's a bit funny to go on such a ridic vaca with you Ma, but I know she's gonna love it and it'll be one of those "experiences of a lifetime" things for both of us. Excited to have a few days in San Jose to myself to check out the city and photograph the city and whatnot.

Woohaa Costa Rica!

coulda been a proud moment but alas.. never will be.

I just got my time off approved! Sept 5-15th I am outta here!! Details to come..

I feel like I haven't stopped going since Friday. Feels good! Real good! Real real tired!

Friday was bad dancing at the Milky Way with Cat. David convinced her to come out, so I tagged along. The new Milky Way space is a little awkward - the dj was was pretty bad, and the crowd was sorta meh.. Oh well, we tried.

Made a late breakfast at my house the next morning.. baked eggs!

Last night I went to Scott's for a dinner party (that I was late for!) then to Middlesex for Soul Clap.

Spent the remainder of the evening (and into the early early morning) drinkin beer in a park with Gabi and her friend Greg. More couch sleeping.

I magically managed to pull myself together this morning to go to the Boston Harbor Islands with Vibhu. The weather was insanely incredible (hello sun burn.) The ferry ride is about 20 minutes and dropped us at Georges Island which houses Fort Warren.. which means lots of dark scary places to walk around. So coooool.

We laid in the grass for a good two hours, which was super relaxing. So many beautiful views!

Such a great day. I can't wait to go back.

I've loved exploring all these new places over the last few months. I want to do this all summer!
